Bradley Manning is a Traitor

I recently viewed the video below that is currently circulating on the internet.  It's entitled "I am Bradley Manning." There appears to be significant celebrity backing and civilian support for PFC Manning who has taken it upon himself to "whistle blow" about atrocities he observed in a combat zone.

Unfortunately, atrocities such as those PFC Manning observed occur in every military combat action. In some cases they are avoidable, in others they are not. In either case, there are procedures and regulations regarding how incidents should be reported. There is no "whistle blowing."

Bradley Manning is a soldier in the United States Army. He is a member of a voluntary fighting force and therefore was not drafted. As a soldier, PFC Manning is a subject of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. His "whistle blowing" is an act of treason, punishable by death.

As a former Army Officer I learned many years ago, as a soldier, sailor, airman or marine, we fight and serve for a democracy but do not serve under a democracy. Such has been the military of this country from the very beginning. This is the cost of life, liberty and freedom each and every American holds dearly.

To be PFC Bradley Manning is to be a traitor. His actions are a slap in the face of all who have ever donned a uniform in service to these United States. He should be treated accordingly.
